Mending your clothes is good for the planet and good for your wallet! Visible mending can be a great way to use your creativity and make your clothes unique too. We’ll talk about how to decide what techniques and materials to use for different types of garments and different types of damage. We’ll learn some darning techniques, which are better for knitted fabrics, (including your hand knits), and fabrics with some stretch to them. All materials are included to make some sample mends to take away with you. We’ll focus particularly on visible mending, but many of the same techniques can be used to mend things in more hidden ways too. If you have particular items that you’re keen to mend, bring them along and get some specific advice on how to tackle them. A minimum of three and a maximum of seven participants (if fewer than three register, fees will be refunded). Coffee and tea provided. This class takes place on the upper level of our studio accessed by a flight of stairs. Please advise if this would be a problem for you. Refunds are available until October 24 provided that there is someone available to take your place. No refunds are available thereafter.
