Amerston Woolcrafts

  • Diane Shadforth

Having been taught to knit by her grandmother at the early age of just four years old, Diane has continued her journey with wool. She attended a workshop run by the Wild Wool Shepherdess in Nottingham several years ago, which sparked her passion for rugmaking.

  • The Process

Her creations are made using wool from her and her daughter's flocks of rare breed sheep. She processes her wool by hand, through all of the stages from raw to finished product. The wool from her daughter's flock of Wensleydales is her favorite to use, due to their luxurious and lustrous locks, though she loves using wool from a variety of breeds. Her love of all thinsg wooly drives her in her mission to find the perfect fleece to transform into beautiful things.
